Monthly Recap: February [Part One] (Downloads/Playlists/Tracks/Projects/News etc.)

At the beginning of every month I'll do my best to summarise what i feel was the best music and the most interesting news and videos of the previous month. I don't have the space to go into detail about every item I post so links to more in-depth reviews will accompany each item.

For Part Two of this months summary head over here

February was a pretty quiet month for Hip-Hop with only a few full projects being released. There were a number of glimpses of what was approaching in the coming months though with singles by CunningLinguists, Atmosphere, Lupe Fiasco, Raekwon & Pharoahe Monche signalling that this year might begin with a bang after all.

Albums/EP's/Mixtapes:

Blu – Amnesia EP

This was impressive upon first listen and the more I heard it the more it grew on me. Fantastic, grab this if you’re a Blu fan.

Fashawn – Higher Learning 2  Mixtape

Not bad. If you’re a Fashawn fan you’ll enjoy it, if not this won’t change your mind.

Consequence – Movies On Demand 2  Mixtape

Consequence is never one to blow you away but is always fairly impressive and this is no exception. If you enjoyed the first in this series of mixtapes you'll enjoy this as well.

Saigon – Greatest Story Never Told Album

Good album. Production’s great and Saigon’s pretty nice. A little too much filler but the strong tracks make up for it.

M.I.C. – Variable

A new upcoming artist with a great flow and a particular talent for hooks. Dope release, check it out.
